This mansion with over 100 years of history is a beautiful old townhouse in the village of Samões, combining historic architecture with elegant contemporary furnishings.
Located just 3 km from the centre of Vila Flor, this House has eleven rooms, all of them with unique original and refined décor, such as the two living rooms and dining room or meetings, offering the greatest convenience. It also has a private chapel, unique feature of this House, and an outdoor swimming pool.
Built in the year 1872, this mansion belonged to the first barons of Samões, the D´almendra family, which were part of the nobility of Portugal and Brazil. Because of the surname of the family in question, they called the house "Casa Almendra ".
António Gomes de Almendra, first Baron of Samões, was born in 1685 villages Boas, a parish also belonging to the municipality of Vila Flor, married Ana Maria da Silva Lobão, born 1690 in the parish of Samões where they would then build a house.
The private chapel, Brasonada, built in praise of St. Francis of Assisi, founded in 1782, (unique feature of our hotel) also restored, where lies Teresa D´almendra, Francisco D´almendra, also them barons of Samões, and the daughter of both Joanes D´almendra.
With over a hundred years of history this mansion was renewed in 2006. Even after remodeling were preserved the historic and worked ceilings characteristic of the time it was founded.
